Free online therapy course launched to help New Zealanders experiencing panic
We are continuing to provide free mental health support for all New Zealanders with the launch of two new courses, Overcoming Panic and Overcoming Panic – Next Steps. Using gold-standard Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) these courses are designed to help the 1 in 4 New Zealanders experiencing anxiety and panic attacks, delivered through an easy-to-use online platform. Learners are able to take the course at their own pace, either self-directed, or prescribed by their healthcare provider.
Panic and panic attacks can be debilitating for those who experience them. "While a small amount of anxiety is normal and even helpful to us, it can become a problem when we experience more of it than we need to, in a way that stops us living a full and meaningful life," says Anna Elders, Clinical Lead for Just a Thought. "The good news is that panic can be managed. Our new courses aim to arm people with the tools they need to manage and overcome panic, and help them get back to living their life."
Over 50,000 New Zealanders are already using Just a Thought to support their mental wellbeing. All courses are free, based on proven and effective cognitive behavioural therapy, and are accessible online.
